Red Cross Response to Disaster Training
Springfield, MO – The Greater Ozarks Chapter of the American Red Cross will conduct a “Chapter Response to Disaster” class for those individuals interested in learning how to respond to local disasters (as part of the Disaster Action Team). This class is for Greene County residents only. Please respond by this Thursday, Sept. 17.

During the winter season there is always an increase in the number of fires the Red Cross responds to. Volunteers are needed for Disaster Response. Training will include information on responding to local fires and completing disaster information forms.

DAT members are volunteers with the Greater Ozarks Chapter and have received specialized training in various aspects of disaster response, including casework interviews, damage assessment, sheltering and feeding, health services and crisis counseling. DAT members also have the full support of the chapter for additional personnel and resources if needed.
