PotashCorp Contributes $500,000 to Red Cross
For Joplin Relief Efforts

The Greater Ozarks Chapter of the American Red Cross is pleased to announce the PotashCorp of Saskatchewan Inc. will donate $500,000 to the Regional chapter, to support relief efforts in Joplin. PotashCorp owns and operates a feed phosphate operation in the small community of 50,000.
“This natural disaster hits close to home,” said PotashCorp President and CEO Bill Doyle. “In the wake of the devastation, our thoughts and prayers are with our neighbors in Joplin and we hope that our contribution helps bring comfort at this difficult time.”
In addition to the $500,000 contribution, PotashCorp employees’ donations to relief efforts in Joplin will be match dollar-for-dollar through PotashCorp’s Employee Matching Gift program.
“We are so grateful for this donation. It will make a huge difference in the recovery of those devastated by the tornado. In the midst of such pain, suffering and loss, it is uplifting to see a company step forward to do all they can to alleviate that pain,” said Debi Meeds, Regional CEO of the Greater Ozarks Chapter of the American Red Cross.
PotashCorp’s donation follows significant commitments to relief efforts in China and Myanmar in 2008, Haiti and Chile in 2010, New Zealand in 2011, and most recently in Japan.
A special check presentation will take place today at 11:00 a.m. at the Red Cross Joplin office located at 410 S. Jackson St. Doug Engel, Plant Manager from PotashCorp, 301 State Line Ave in Joplin, will be there to present the check to Debi Meeds, Executive Director of the Chapter.
