American Red Cross Shelter Transitions to Smaller Facility
The American Red Cross shelter located on the campus of Missouri Southern State University will be closing as of 5pm Tuesday June 14th. As the recovery process progresses, we are encouraged by the fact that the number of overnight stays at the shelter have decreased to the point that it can now be moved to a smaller facility.
Everyone is encouraged to work with available State and Federal government agencies and housing resources to find permanent housing as quickly as possible. The Red Cross will provide housing assistance on a case by case basis for those individuals who still have continued emergency housing needs.

June-Water Safety
Swimming is the most popular summer activity. Staying safe around water is more than staying near the lifeguard at the pool. Every year many children drown in residential swimming pools, bath tubs, buckets of water and other containers of water. Anywhere there is water there is risk for drowning. Do not leave a young child unattended near any source of water, not even for a moment. For more information go to www.redcross.org
