FEMA

NEWS RELEASE

FEMA Benefits

Springfield, MO

The Greater Ozarks Chapter of the American Red Cross would like to remind everyone who is a survivor of the recent severe storms, flooding and tornadoes that struck Missouri between April 19 and June 6, 2011 that they must register with FEMA by July 29, 2011 to be considered for benefits.

Debi Meeds, Executive Director for the Chapter, said, “We are urging people to meet the deadline since failure to file for assistance could affect ling-term recovery assistance.”

                                                                                                             June-Water Safety

Swimming is the most popular summer activity. Staying safe around water is more than staying near the lifeguard at the pool. Every year many children drown in residential swimming pools, bath tubs, buckets of water and other containers of water. Anywhere there is water there is risk for drowning. Do not leave a young child unattended near any source of water, not even for a moment.  For more information go to www.redcross.org
