Same Great Service; New Name
American Red Cross Southern Missouri Region: 1/3/2012
As the restructuring and transformation of the American Red Cross
continues across the country, we here in the southern part of the state
of Missouri, continue to provide excellent service to our 40 counties.
Currently the Greater Ozarks Chapter of 29 counties and the South East
Missouri (SEMO) Chapter of 11 counties are functioning together as the
Greater Ozarks Region. In order to streamline and balance the response
to our Region we have restructured into four redefined "Areas" that
together, will now be known as * The Southern Missouri Region.
Areas are defined as follows:
Southwest Area (SWMO) with physical offices in Joplin and Nevada
providing service to Barry, Barton, Cedar, Dade, Jasper, Lawrence,
McDonald, Newton, St. Clair and Vernon counties.
Regional Headquarters Area (RHQ) with physical offices in Springfield
and Lebanon providing service to Christian, Dallas, Greene, Hickory,
Laclede, Polk, Stone, Taney and Webster counties.
Southcentral Area (SCMO) with physical offices in Van Buren and West
Plains providing service to Carter, Douglas, Howell, Oregon, Ozark,
Reynolds, Ripley, Shannon, Texas and Wright counties.
Southeast Area (SEMO) with a physical office located in Cape Girardeau
providing service to Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Dunklin,
Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Perry, Scott, Stoddard and Wayne
Each individual area will continue operations and responses through
local staff and volunteers, with direct support and guidance from the
management team located in the Springfield office of the RHQ area. Over
the next few months we will be changing the Greater Ozarks label on our
media outlets, Facebook, Twitter, press releases and marketing outreach.
We appreciate your help in maintaining and spreading the visibility of
the American Red Cross in Southern Missouri. Same great service you
have come to expect, the only thing new is the name.

About the American Red Cross:
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to
victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation's blood;
teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and
supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a
charitable organization - not a government agency - and depends on
volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its
mission. For more information, please visit www.redcross.org
